Wow

This thing works extremely well. I read review after review and they were bad. I don't understand that. All you need to do to have a great experience with this is have common sense. If you walk over pot holes or any other uneven surfaces it will try to go over them walk somewhere you know it won't have issues.
Pros:
I love the follow mode works great.
Cons:
It could use a wider stance. It would help on uneven surfaces.

Makes walking worth it!
July 12, 2013
I wanted to start walking when I play to get the exercise but also to help focus on my game. I was not interested in carrying the bag or push/pulling clubs around. I researched the CaddyTrek a great deal and decided to give it a try. I have been very impressed with it's ability to follow me most anywhere on the course. The cart has the ability to go much faster than I walk and with the exception of dense woods, I have not found anywhere it wouldn't follow. I have even jogged in front of it to see if it could keep up and it did. To follow the golfer you clip a very small remote on your belt at the small of your back. The largest button on the remote is used to stop the cart when you are ready to hit and to restart when you are ready to move on. You don't need to hold the remote in your hand unless you want to remotely guide the cart. You must stay pretty much in front of the cart for it work properly. You can change direction easily and it works great but you can't suddenly move 90 degrees from your current path and have the cart still see you. That doesn't really happen during a round but I want people to understand the limitations of the technology. If you walk normally it does fine. As far as the range of the carts remote, I tested it and it went just short of 100 yards away before it lost sight of the remote and it stops automatically so it does not run away from you. I really love the freedom the cart gives me to enter my scores and other stats into my cell phone as I am walking to the next shot. As far as how long the battery will last in a stretch, I have not tested that. I have played 27 with it and it was still showing half charged on the batteries indicator lights. The battery is 12" x 6" x 2.75" thick and is very light. It has a button that you push to show you current battery strength. I have been caught in the rain a couple of times and the cart didn't seem to mind. The company that makes these doesn't really sell many accessories so you will have to go to 3rd parties for drink holders and such. It is summer at this point and I rigged up a cooler bag and mounted onto the cart. I was able to carry to two medium Gatorade bottles and 3 water bottles with ice. The cart did fine with the extra weight. I doubt the company would recommend this but where I play they don't have water stations. The only thing you can't do is block the two sensors that need to have an unobstructed view of the remote but it is not a problem because of the design. I had a problem with the remote once and the company sent me a replacement immediately and asked me to return the damaged one using their box and a prepaid UPS label. I have had a few questions along the way and the tech guys are very good at explaining the product and its features. I am a very skeptical shopper and it took me a while to convince myself that this would work. If you watch the videos on their website you will get an idea of what will do. So well into my second year, the cart is performing as advertised. I am very glad I bought the CaddyTrek. I look forward to walking now even on very warm days.
Pros:
Freedom to walk without push/pulling a cart and bag. Everyone that sees it loves it. It folds up into a small package so trunk space is not a problem. Has two modes basically: Follow me mode and remote control guidance mode. Small light powerful battery. Really smart design and very adjustable for different bag sizes.
Cons:
Lack of accessories matched to the cart's design. Try to avoid side hill walking or at least walk a bit slower on side hill steep grades. This is only very steep grades where you normally wouldn't walk anyway.
