5 star club--2 star cover
August 11, 2015
I'm a 52 year old 14 hdcp. I have used Cleveland wedges for years and really like their products. I have a 10.5 degree XL Classic Custom with regular shaft. I was looking for a few extra yards with good forgiveness. I bought it last Summer (2014). What I got with the Cleveland was a beautiful club that is comparable to most all clubs I tried, in length, but was easier to hit at my maximum distance. if that makes sense. The adjustments are simple and work. Get it dialed in and it will give you a good solid tee shot. It's not going to give you an extra 50 yards. It's not going to make you swing better. What's not great? The grip is not the greatest (but are there any on new clubs?). I replaced it fairly quickly, and the cover. It is the worst head cover I have ever had.
Pros:a beautiful club that resembles the black Powerbilt Citation Persimmon drivers from the 70's. large sweet spot. easy to hit. good shaft. good adjustments. distance is good compared to everything else. Good build quality. great price now from RBG.
Cons:grip and cover. Cleveland drivers are very light to promote higher swing speeds for most amateur golfers. Some golfers may not like the weight. You can add weights. Grips is cheap and thin. Headcover is very unfriendly.
