    good bag for the money
    September 2, 2013
I walk, but with a push cart. So I don't need a bag with one pocket and 2 dividers that weighs 1.5 lbs. I want a big ball pocket, a big pocket for clothing and a 14 way divider for organization. Though I ride in a cart a couple of times a year, I also don't want a gigantic, heavy cart bag. Plus I enjoy the convenience of a stand bag when at the range or practice green. I want a nice, light bag with plenty of room that's easy to carry and will also ride on or in a cart. Don't think I'm asking that much, and I suspect the majority of golfers would prefer a single bag like this, but manufacturers don't seem to get it. This bag is an update of an RJ Sports branded bag I bought a few years ago. Has all of the above with a stand bottom that rides on a cart nicely. For the $50 price range, that bag was perfect. Paying over $100 for this bag, I expected some improvements. I got some. I also got some new drawbacks. The good: Top handle, a feature I really wanted and think should be on every bag now. The 14way top is much better now and easily separates clubs upright or tilted. No sticking putting in or pulling out midsize grips. Water bottle holder is larger and better placed. The bad: Side handle and bottom handle are just plain nylon straps. The old version had a nice, large, ergonomic molded rubber handle with a nice thumb slot that lets you manipulate the bag pretty well. Kind of wash with the top handle, but what's wrong with having both be useful? The bottom handle on the old bag was nicely integrated with the ball pocket. Looked better, better placement, and the new one snags easily. Second outside pocket is much smaller (than it used to be, and much smaller than the apparel pocket) for no apparent reason. Might as well run all the way down the side. Everything else is almost identical. So, all in all, the best bag for the money that I could find, but almost twice as much as it used to be, and not that much nicer. If you want a bag like this, and don't mind spending more, the Titleist regular 14way stand bag can be had for $150 on sale if you wait for it. Bought one for my Dad and it's really similar, but definitely nicer. Has all the advantages and none of the drawbacks.
    Pros:
Top handle, a feature I really wanted and think should be on every bag now. The 14way top is much better now and easily separates clubs upright or tilted. No sticking putting in or pulling out midsize grips. Water bottle holder is larger and better placed.
    Cons:
