    very fragile
    July 28, 2012
the gps functioned relatively well. You do have to buy a subscription which puts it into the price range of other gps systems that don't require subscription. I also got a small crack in mine from carrying it in my golf bag and unlike an iphone it does not function with a cracked screen. With no way to navigate other than the touch screen that meant it was effectively useless.
    Pros:
    nice interface car + golf
    Cons:
    fragile subscription

Very accurate and price/performance is great
    July 4, 2012
I took the unit straight from the box and to the course the day I received it and it worked great. My home course was loaded and ready to go. I compared the yardage to a friends Sky Caddy ($499.00) ant the yardage was almost exactly the same on each unit. I have taken one short road trip and used the GPS feature to guide me to my destination with no problem. You can't go wrong with this unit which is priced lower than many GPS only units.
    Pros:
Easy of use and accurate yardage.
    Cons:
Battery needs to be recharged more often than I would prefer.

the manual that comes with the unit is a little short of info, to get you going. once i was told you must have java, downloaded, it was a piece of cake. i charged it all night after playing 18, and it went dead halfway through 18 today. have an e mail into the company, asking what up. we will see.
    Pros:
price, and ability to do auto, and golf.
    Cons:
    battery time.

Good when you can find a signal!
    June 18, 2012
I really enjoyed trying out the Expresso AG1. It was pretty accurate with yardage on the course and directions while traveling in the car. The problem I had was we didn't always get a sattelite signal. Even in teh same area we golfed the day before. The weather was sunny and the course was wide open. Not sure what was happening. Also did not have much for instructions for all it can do. You have to experiment to see what it functions it all has.
    Pros:
The accuracy, the graphics, and ease of use once you play with it awhile.
    Cons:
Lack of signal and not much for instructions.

    A real steal
    June 10, 2012
I did'n't pay for the upgrade so I did not get the full upgrade. I did get whta I needed most. I have Macular Degeneration and as such have a difficult time calculating the distance to the green. Whith the Expresso it shows the distance by using the flag colors on the screen. Red (front), White (middle) and Blue (back) with the distance associated with each distance. I automatically found the cource and moved from hole to hole. My game changed from bogie to bogie and with this addition I noe get more par 3s.
    Pros:
It is automatic and has LARGE numbers.
    Cons:
That I didn't buy one sooner.

    First golf GPS... Love it!
    June 7, 2012
My dad bought a Golfbuddy GPS a couple of years ago. I loved being able to see my yardages when out on the links with him. And the Golfbuddy works great too. Always seemed to be spot on. And what's nice with Golfbuddy is no extra or yearly fees. Well I've wanted one ever since using his for the first time. I just couldn't see spending 300-400 dollars on one. Then I found this gem. $100 bucks and also has road GPS. There are no yearly fees if you don't want them. It comes ready to use out of the box and gives you yardages to front, center, and middle of the green and yardages to water and sand hazards. I went ahead and paid for the premium membership though. It's a $35 dollar yearly fee. This gives you the ability to download the maps and scorecards for the courses you play. With the map, it gives you the birds-eye-view of the hole and allows you to find your distance to any place on the hole. In other words, on a dog-leg you can check your distance to the corner and then what your distance from the corner to the green will be. From what I've read what you download is yours. So I'm downloading all that I can for my area and then I won't pay the fee again for next year and I'll get to keep all that I've downloaded. I've had this out a couple times now on a couple of courses and it seems to work perfectly. You'll be surprised how much the course's yardage markers are off. On one course I play I've known some were off for a long time just because I know how far I hit the ball with each of my clubs and would come up short or go long is I paid attention to the yardage marker. Now having this, some are off as much as 30-40 yds.
    Pros:
Great Price Huge easy-to-read screen Has road GPS also Ready to go out of the box
    Cons:
    None so far

AG1 GPS great value for the cost
    June 4, 2012
I really liked the idea of having one GPS for both the car and golf courses. The unit seems accurate and had little problems picking up satellites. My only complaint is that it is hard to see the screen in bright sunlight whille golfing.
    Pros:
Great value for the price Can be used in car and on course Numerous mounting options
    Cons:
    Hard to see in sunlighgt

    June 2, 2012
Works great both golf and auto gps, for you guys out there who wonder about charging it if you have a blackberry or iphone just use the usb charger you plug in the wall the little square part and plug this in there it will charge it perfectly that way as for the time issue it only works with auto gps i guess it getd time from satellite that way.
    Pros:
    Accurate and easy to use

Expresso AG1 Golf & vAutomotive GPS
    May 31, 2012
I have used twice for golf. I believe it will be what I expected once learning how to use. I wish there was a "how to use manual" with examples to help. The device seems to have many "tools" included but hard to understand. The two courses played were located within a minute or two and remained through out the round.
    Pros:
Not able to comment positive until figuring how to use. I trust the device will meet my expectations though. The features/options of the device are nice - ie; hands on handling
    Cons:
As mentioned - no "how to use manual". The one provided (AG50) is not useful on the course. Also the "iGolf" premium membership was difficult to subscribe too and once joined/paid you have to log-in three/four times to get into the site to download the addional courses.

    Would buy again
    May 30, 2012
Read the reviews and it was just as they said. Every now and then it doesn't skip to the next hole but no big deal you just have to do it yourself . Paid the extra for the yearly membership for the map of the coarses came in handy on some holes but I only play a few different coarses so not sure if it's gonna be worth it. If I played more or traveled to other places it might be worth it.
    Pros:
Everyone I play with says the yardage is right on.
    Cons:
It won't skip to next hole. Really not that bad.
