You've tried other distance measurement tools before, or you've seen someone else using them. GPS can't give you the distance to the flagstick, only to the middle of the green. That's not the information you really want. Hunting rangefinders try to give you the distance to the flagstick, but much of the time give you the distance to the oak tree behind the flagstick. They’re difficult to use for the "regular" golfer.

Then, there is the Laser Link Distance System - the distance measurement tool golfers truly enjoy using. Never before has it been easier to find the distance to the flagstick. The unit is so simple to use that anyone from the most experienced veteran to the newest beginner will be able to use it with ease. A golfer wants to know distance information, and we all need it to play our best. No player at any course knows every distance on the golf course; they especially don’t know every distance to the flagstick. This information changes with each new day.

The NEW and IMPROVED Red Hot is Laser Link Golf’s most recent release. Red Hot employs the latest in laser technology to make measurements to trees, bunkers, and any other landmark on the course faster and more reliable than ever.
  • Laser Link’s trademark pistol-shape design makes this the only rangefinder you can use without holding it to your eye, which means you don’t have to remove your hat or sunglasses to get a measurement.
  • NEW to this model is the unique VIBRATE MODE that allows you to receive measurement confirmation, but to do it silently so as not to disturb other golfers.
  • Easy-to-use red dot alignment system – Laser Link's trademark feature.
  • Measures to landmarks, such as trees and bunkers, up to 400 yards.
  • Measures to a Laser Link reflector up to 800 yards.
  • Designed to measure distance only, so as to conform with USGA and R&A Rules of Golf.
*Please note: Many players will find it challenging to get easy measurements to the flagsticks without a flagstick reflector in place. Laser Link flagstick reflectors are strongly recommended in order to receive consistently simple measurements to the flagstick. Works well and is accurate. It takes a little time to learn to not shoot the trees and just the pin! That's my problem not the rangefinder. Overall very good for what I wanted.
    Very accurate picks up everything.

Handy and light. Works well once you find the red light.
More accurate than any GPS unit
Have to hit the flag a few times to make sure of the reading. Have to move the unit around to find the red light.

    Laser Link Golf-Red Hot Rangefinder
    June 13, 2012
Red Hot Rangefinder is handy, easy to use and very fast. Push button once to turn it on, center the red dot in the black circle and place dot on target. Instant distance. Much faster than Bushnell lazer rangefinders, more accurate than Skycaddie. I would have rated five star except I should have ordered the model that reads only pin prism as this top of the line model will sometimes miss the pin and read an item such as a tree or hillside behind the pin. Save a little money and buy the model that does not read objects other than the pin prisms.
    Quick and accurate
Can read objects behind the pin prism.

    Too Early to say
    May 1, 2012
I am not ready to review the items as I have only had it for a short period of time. Though, I had been watching and reading about it for some time. Delay being, I have not as yet played on a course with prisims on the flag sticks and it is much to easy to pick up readings from large unintended objects....like trees. Understand that completing this form I was "required" to fill in all fields though I am not ready to pass final judgement as yet. So, after I have really had an opportunity to use the item I'll be able to adjust my rating.

    Just a little off
    April 22, 2012
This is my seconf range finder made by Laser Link, the first one was great and is still working after seven years, but I wanted to upgrade to a rangefinder that would tell how far to objects,as well as the distance to the pin, this rangefinder works good, but the red dot that you put inside the circle to measure distance seems out of line,if I put the circle over my target, its then necessary to adjust quite a bit to get the red dot inside of the circle, almost a sif the beam is coming out at an angle instead of straight,my first range finder did not exhibit this tendency
