Comparable to ProV1?
December 17, 2012
I've played golf for over 35 years and I have always been a Titleist man. Over the years I have, from time to time gone astray (thinking I could save a little money) and tried different brands. But I always go back to Titleist. A month or so ago I found an almost lost Nike "One Tour" (no, it was not still rolling) so I thought to myself, "Isn't this the ball that Tiger helped to develop? Can't be all bad. Let me give it a try." I was surprised to find that it was very similar in feel to the Pro V1 off the driver and irons. But the difference was obvious when I hit to the green - it didn't check up as hard as the Pro V1 and I was faced with a very fast down-hill put that I'm quite sure I wouldn't have had if I had used my Pro V1. This happened several times until I finished loosing it in a green-side water hazard. So, for me it is not as good as the Pro V1. I suppose that with practice I could get used to it. But since I feel that the Nike One Tour cost me a $10 Nassau I won't be using it again.
Pros:Similar in feel to Pro V1. Less expensive than a Pro V1.
Cons:Using this ball cost me a $10 Nassau to a guy I almost always beat!!! I did recommend the ball to him. heh heh...
