The “TR” in the Scottsdale TR putter from Ping, stands for true roll and that is exactly what you will get when you hit your putt. Ping used a variable depth groove design, deeper in the middle of the club and gradually getting shallower going away from the center. This design helps equalize the ball speed to help with distance control.

  • Variable-depth grooves
  • Improved ball-speed consistency and distance control on center, heel, or toe strikes

The True Roll (TR) insert is really making a difference for me because i have trouble in making contact at the centre every time... This putter takes that out of the equation by rolling the same distance whether u hit the ball in the toe/middle/heel ... Just focus on alignment and watch the ball drop!!
The feel is not too soft or too firm... just right. The ball rolls nicely. Same distance irrespective of putter face contact with ball.. Great for lag putting.
Cleaning the dirt from the groves especially if you play in wet conditions...
