Couldn't connect the V100
By David S. from York, NY on October 22, 2011

Just received the Sonocaddie V100. I followed all the directions, and when I tried to connect the V100 to download courses, I got a message that said, "can't get com number only support com1 to com9" whatever the hell that means. It wouldn't connect to the software; consequently, I couldn't download any courses. I'll call their customer service dept. soon. Nothing's easy.
Pros:
Seems simple enough to useCons:
If you can't download courses, what good is it????V100 guess no more
By Peter from Traralgon, Victoria on September 12, 2011

Finally got to use the V100 as it had been stashed in the cupboard for fathers day. Set up the Sonocaddie account and downloaded the desired course that took all of 30sec and was up and running. If you want a GPS unit that gives you the basics - Distance to front, center, and back of the green as well as bunker and other hazards this is for you. A great unit for the price and the first 5 courses are free just another added bonus. No more guessing.....
Pros:
Very simple to use, small, picks up heaps of satellites, first 5 courses free. Some are not a fan of the belt clip but I just clip it to a pocket on my bag and park next the ball. Cheaper from Rock than the Sonocaddie web site by a lazy $100.00...go figureCons:
Has a manual next hole function. No big deal. Put score on card and hit next hole button. Too easyI would recommend this item to a friend.
Does everything expected of it at a great price
By Bob from Australia on July 31, 2011

Have used it at three courses at it has worked a treat. A bit of fiddling around if you want to download more than 10 courses as you have to load them onto the unit first before uploading them to a computer. At the price represents good value
Pros:
Price and appearanceI would recommend this item to a friend.
I ordered it for my father and he likes it a lot.

By Chandy Paul from Canberra Australia on July 2, 2011

Very good value for money GPS in that it does, very accurately give you the distances to the middle, front & back of the green along with marking out the hazards to watch for. Also gives you the distance of your last shot. Want more do you need for a good round of golf??
Pros:
Compact, no frills and gimmicks GPSI would recommend this item to a friend.
Quality GPS at a Great Price!
By Dave from Denver, Colorado on May 2, 2011

If you're looking for a nice little GPS without all the bells and whistles, this product will not disappoint you. Some people may not like having to download the courses they want to play, but I did not want a GPS with thousands of courses I will never play. I found it to be very accurate and easy to use. Of course, getting it from RBG for less than $100 with free shipping was a big plus!
Pros:
Ease of use, price, quality, accuracy, the fact that I can download only the courses I want to play.Cons:
Manual advance to next hole.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Easy to use. Good value for money
By paul from NSW Australia on April 30, 2011

This is my first GPS, so went for a cheaper option. This GPS is simple to use, no annual subscriptions now that Sonocaddie have a single one off fee for access to worldwide courses. Installed on my PC and loaded my first 3 courses in about 20 mins start to finish.
Pros:
Simple to use
Convenient sizeCons:
None yetI would recommend this item to a friend.
Cheap but Effective
By John from Omaha, Nebraska on April 28, 2011

There aren't a lot of bells and whistles with this little GPS, but it gives a good yardage to the Front, Middle, Back and can be used to determine distances to hazards. If all you need is those distances and you don't need a fly over of the course, this is a good little GPS for $100.
Pros:
Small and gives accurate yardages to Front, Middle and Back.Cons:
The belt clip worries me. Not sure I'll wear it on my belt.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Just Enough Technology
By Dan from Southern California on August 4, 2010

My need was simple: give me the distance to the green. And the Sonocaddie v100 does just accurately and quickly. When I got to the course I turned the unit on. By the time I was on the first tee (10 minutes at most), the gps had locked in on the course and gave me the distance to the first green. It worked flawlessly around the course with none of the business of more expensive brands. I recommend this unit if you want efficient, simple, and inexpensive.

Great product, very affordable
By Vern on May 12, 2009

Just purchased the sonocaddie v100 last week, used it once and very happy with the results; Membership plan is versatile, $5 per course or $30 one time for unlimited downloads, sonocaddie\'s customer service is unmatched, if they do not have a course mapped, they\'ll map it for you, for free! This unit allows for manual mapping of a course or you can edit the points (hazards, OB, etc.) yourself very easily and quickly. If you\'re looking for basic yardage to hazards and the green, without all of the fancy/color graphics, this is for you. Size is great as well, about the size of a motorola razr, but slightly thicker. Fits nicely in your pocket without being bulky. I would recommend this device to anyone.
Great device, great price!
By PGK on May 1, 2009

Sonocaddie has come up with a winner. One doesn\'t need color to view, the most important is the mapping feature and distances to green and hazards. Most importantly there are no yearly fees. The mapping is excellent. 10 courses are more than enough for me as the distances that I drive to play the courses are under the 50mile radius. The course database is very up to date and if a course isn\'t mapped sonocaddie will do it for you. I have not yet tried this feature since most courses that I play in the Raleigh, NC area have been mapped. I couldn\'t be happier with this device.
Great Value Does the Job!

At the price this is offered, you cant go wrong. Plenty of courses, and it is very precise. If you don\'t need a golf gps with all the bells and whistles this is it. Very small, tested it out today and it was spot on at all the markers. If you are not always in the fairway this thing very helps with club selection.
