So far so good.

I bought one of these from Rock Bottom on Ebay recently. Followed instructions and downloaded the device driver (I used WIN7 but Sonocaddie indicates that it is also compatible with WIN8 even though that is not indicated, haven't tried WIN8 yet, Apple Mac is NOT supported right now, XP and Vista are supported) and installed same. After registering, I downloaded a course that was not preloaded but was mapped in their database (free download after registering, payment of $s is NOT required for this as a BASIC membership is free). Download was No problem and easy (room to download about 100 courses that are not preloaded). Registered after downloading the device driver, you have to use the V500 keyboard to register and logon to the website (have to logon to the website anytime you want to download courses). To do this requires the V500 to be connected to the PC via USB Cable and PC is connected to the internet(and device driver is loaded prior to this). I requested that they map a course that was not mapped as of yet. Sonocaddie indicated via email that they would do this in 10-14days (this is a free service for this unit). I charged the unit with the AC adaptor. It is also chargable from a PC USB port. Charge time is quoted as 4 to 8 hours depending if unit is on or off. The V500 tells you when the charge is complete. You are told to not charge beyond 8 hours. The unit is in very nice condition, looks almost new actually. It has a few small nicks in the plastic case but nothing on the screen itself. A bit of dust under the thingey that connects to the belt clip. It seems to pick up the GPS satellites quickly although I did NOT time it (this was in my house). Using the unit is pretty intuitive so far but I have not used a lot of functions, see the Sonocaddie website to see all of the functions available. They say you can use a tee on the touch screen for more accuracy and that is true. I have not used the unit at a golf course yet (in the Cold Snowy Northeast and golf is not possible) to judge its accuracy on the golf course. I also have not let the unit lay idle to try and judge its ability to be usable for 12 hours (advertised). Definitely satisfied so far. We see what happens on the course.
Pros:Easy to use. PC Device Drivers download and install with no problems. Additional course download and install with no problems. Seems to have an intuitive interface that is easy to use. Screen is bright and easy to read (in house, don't know about in sunlight). Very nice condition for a refurbished unit. Sonocaddie support seems good so far. Nice price (Ebay bidding). As usual Rock Bottom service is great with quick ship, etc. If my son likes the unit I will purchase one for his use also.
Cons:None so far.
