SLDR fairways woods and Rescue clubs combine two of TaylorMade’s most recent innovations: Speed Pocket technology and an exceptionally low-and-forward center of gravity (CG) location.

Smaller is better. The new Speed Pocket is smaller (introduced in the RocketBallz fairways and Rescues), which actually makes it more efficient at increasing how fast the face flexes at impact, promoting faster initial ball speed across a wider portion of the face, which helps you get consistently long distance on every swing.

The new Speed Pocket design also gave TaylorMade engineers room to move the clubhead’s CG lower and farther forward, to a place that promotes faster ball speed and a lower spin-rate.

TaylorMade learned with the SLDR driver that a low-forward CG location allows many players to increase their loft to achieve the right combination of high-launch / low-spin that promotes maximum distance. The same thing goes for SLDR fairway and Rescues, which is where the Loft Sleeve technology serves such an important purpose, by allowing you to adjust the loft 1.5° up or down to dial in their optimal launch conditions.

Visually, SLDR fairways and Rescues incorporate the same rich, charcoal-gray crown and traditional shaping as the SLDR driver. The dark crown-color contrasts beautifully with the silver-colored clubface to make it easy to align the face accurately at address .

Features:
  • Improved Speed Pocket design allows further-forward CG for increased ball speed
  • Exceptionally low-and-forward CG location promotes faster ball speed and lower spin
  • Compact head size and shallow face for easy launch and playability from every lie
  • TaylorMade loft-sleeve technology allows ±1.5° loft change
  • Charcoal-gray crown and titanium-gray high-contrast face for easy alignment
  • High loft options work with low-forward CG to promote high launch and long carry

    Can you believe this price?
    April 22, 2015
I was convinced that this wouldn't be a TP because all the other sites have this same club for 299.99 but when it came in the mail it was! You can't beat this price and you can't beat the distance of this club, I switched from a burner 2.0 TP with a fujikura fit on max 46in 65 gram stiff shaft to this and have gained 10 yds. It is a bit harder to control, but the pop is out of this world. I appreciate the ability to tune in the loft, as with this club you can adjust to the different playing conditions.
    Pros:
    Adjustability, length, price
    Cons:
    none

Seems good but poor driver quality worries me
    March 8, 2015
This club looks good and feels great. No problems and felt great with every shot. I bought the SLDR S driver to compliment this fairway wood and the drivers shaft exploded after hitting 15 balls. Hope this shaft holds up....
    Pros:
    Good looking solid feel.
    Cons:
Due to poor quality in shaft of same manufacturer in my diver I worry if this will hold up.

    Nice 5 wood
    October 20, 2014
I just hit this club for the first time and love it. I was hitting longer and straighter then before. I was hitting in the factory setting and it was great, I would recommend this club.

    What a weapon
    June 26, 2014
My new SLDR fairway wood is working better than expected. I can now count on it for those 200 yard or so u2nd shots on long par 4's. At almost 70 years old and a 8 handicap, this club shold keep me competitive for years to come. The adjustable loft is easy to work and find your niche, I am reluctant to share with my buddies. I don't want them to catch me. I have the SLDR driver from 2013 which I love! HG

    SLDR - FAIRWAY WOOD.
    February 19, 2014
Hello All - I Spent a couple of session s @ the driving Range and now I'm more comfortable using the fairway wood . This club is a little toe heavy like the wooden woods of old but not to the old extreme. I've been using 5 wood with 17.5 degree of loft - it has a graphite shaft and is really light compared to the SLDR Fairway wood.
    Pros:
Yards of the mark have increased. Lower Centre Of Gravity. Speed Pocket.
    Cons:
    A little toe heavy.

    Great 5 wood

Have been using the Ping Anser 5 wood. This is a little longer, but the flight is a lot lower, which is what I wanted.
