The new Exotics CU Iron is a perfect blend of classic feel and enhanced forgiveness. The CUís thin topline, medium-sized blade width, reduced progressive offset and tour-beveled sole inspire confidence to work the ball in any direction and land it close to the pin.

At the core of the CU ironís technology is its deep undercut cavity. The undercut moves weight away from the face and into the sole for a higher moment of inertia, a higher launch angle, and enhanced forgiveness. For better playability, the CUís cavity features extreme heel and toe weighting. The weighted areas in the heel and toe represent a significant portion of the soleís total weight. This added weight in the perimeter of the club improves accuracy on heel-toe hits while still allowing the player to feel and work each shot.

For the ideal level of workability and feel, the CU has reduced offset and a tour-beveled sole. The bevel reduces the soleís contact with the ground, increasing its playability and allowing it to feel more like a forged blade.

  • Undercut cavity moves weight back and away from the face to increase stability and forgiveness
  • Heel / toe pad weighting provides extra stability, especially on off-center contact
  • Reduced progressive offset and tour-beveled sole deliver enhanced workability and shot control

    So Far So Good
    April 2, 2014
I have been using XCG-3s for the better part of two years, and while I have dabbled with many other irons during that time, they were always my "gamers" and what I compared all the others against. I couldn't find anything I felt as comfortable with as often. I decided I wanted a lighter shaft so I started looking around and was scared off by the lack of reviews and info about the CUs, but finally came to my sense and got a set. How did it work out? Well, the beloved XCG-3s have been retired. These look so much better than the pictures; the heads/soles/toplines are much more compact, way more so than the current XCG offerings. The satin finish looks really great. I'm also much happier with the lighter shafts; they're light but not too light. Distance is comparable to my old set, but I also still don't really have these completely dialed in yet. All in all, these are just another set of solid, completely underrated, TEE clubs. For anyone on the fence, they're really worth taking a chance on.
