Fantastic feel and control
May 5, 2016
I'm a Wilson guy and have played Di9, Ci9, Tour Blades and now upgraded from Ci11 to these clubs and couldn't be happier. The feel off the face is "buttery" for lack of a better word and offer pretty good control over ball flight. Easier to draw and fade than with my Ci11s. My Tour Blades were forged and were not forgiving in the least. Mishit = painful knuckels. These clubs are much more forgiving than other forged sets. You feel a mishit more than with other non-forged clubs, but it isn't painful at all and you can still get decent flight out of the ball. One thing I should mention is that the lofts are actually quite weak for today's standards. I used my Ci11 specs and bent these to within 1 degree weaker and now my yardages are perfect. In fact I have gained yards on solid hits versus the Ci11s. NOTE: When I got the clubs bent the guy mentioned to me that some lofts were WAY off. For example the 8 iron, instead of being 3 degrees off my Ci11 numbers was closer to 5 degrees. That's a huge difference. In short, I highly recommend these clubs but you should check the lofts once you have them. Bending is cheap, $4 a club at most.
Pros:- Smooth/buttery feel on solid contact
- Nice control over flight
- They look amazing
- They have a nice weight. You can feel the clubhead when swinging.
- So far the black finish is holding up well. 30 minutes on the range and 2 rounds of golf without minimal signs of wear.
Cons:- Lofts are weak and could be weaker than specs say. Have them checked. Mine were weaker than they should have been.
- Grips aren't the best, not the worst either. I will play the season and change them out later.
