The Tour Preferred X is a 5 layered ball that provides exceptional distance with the Driver and Long Irons by utilizing low spin and a more penetrating ball flight. Controlled flight in short irons and wedges gives the better player the combination of distance they're looking for off the tee with the control around the green they need..

Used to play Taylormade project a but switched to the tour preferred ball mainly because of a great special offer from RBG. Tour preferred is longer and better bite on the greens. I'm sold on Taylormade but now I play the tour preferred ball.

I LOVE THESE BALLS AND THESE PRICES

I fell in love with Taylormade golf balls when I tried the Lethal... The TP/TPX golf balls were a great continuation of everything good about that ball. I love the length of the balls off the driver and irons, & they perform wonderfully in the wind. When you combine that with great stopping power, you you have a go to ball in my book.
ProsLength Spin (stopping power) they perform great in the wind with very little ballooning balls.
ConsAs with all urethane golf balls don't expect to get much more then a round out of a ball without scarring it up with your wedges (or rocks, cart path, & trees in my case...lol)

TaylorMade Tour Prefered Golf Ball
January 31, 2017
Choosing a ball for it's spin and feel around the greens has always compromised distance off the tee. Not with the Tour Preferred. This ball is as long as any other I've played along with great feel off the irons and short game shots. The six pack of three TP and three TPX is an inexpensive way to test which ball works best for you.
ProsSpin, distance, feel.

I have switched back and forth between these TP's and Pro V1's over the last couple years. TP's are longer and felt lighter off my putter. Both spin well off my wedges. Difference then is TP's can be had on sale quite often and Titllest never come down until the new version comes out. When was the last time you saw Rock Bottom sell Pro V1's for less than $39 for prior year models only.
ProsDistance, Spin, Feel. Sale pricing.
