Great addition to my game
March 31, 2014
Have played 36 holes with this watch so far and my initial impression is very positive.
So nice to have instantaneous yardages without having to use a phone app that works about a third of the time. I used the tee time feature and 7 minutes prior to the weeks tee time it automatically finds the course and I'm ready to go.
Yardages are accurate although occasionally I find a variance up to 3 yards from others with GPS. Could be theirs as well as mine but not a big deal. The huge plus is when I'm well off the fairway (it happens!) it gives accurate distance immediately and accurately. A huge time saver. Comfortable on the wrist. I noticed in cold weather when I'm wearing long sleeves the buttons can get pushed inadvertently but only takes a second to recapture. Have only had to manually advance to the next or previous hole a couple times (and I think that may have been clothes related bumps also).
The battery life is excellent. I purposely didn't recharge it between weeks and got 36 holes in with a bar of battery life still to go. Nice.
The odometer feature is useful. I walk at my local course and its nice to see that I'm covering 6 miles a round and the time taken feature is also handy.
Haven't used the individual shot distance feature yet, still have to figure that one out..but the rest of the features I got in one 10 minute session with the instructions. Highly recommend, especially for the money.
Pros:Accurate distance, instantaneous.
Long battery life
Features I've used (odometer, hazard distances, elapsed time, tee time) have worked flawlessly
comfortable to wear. Round shape much more appealing than old model.
Prefer it to rangefinders (much faster and don't have to carry it).
Hasn't inadvertently changed holes when I decide to drive into an adjacent fairway
Great value compared to other wrist watch GPS's
Cons:So far, none.
