I have the Expresso AG1 that was the predecesser of the AG50s and have never found fault with it. All distances are accurate within a couple yards for obstacles as well as the green and it easily picks out the course you're going to play when you turn it on.
I got my AG1 from Rock Bottom Golf and the new "improved" AG50s must be the best ever. No fees like the other high dollar GPS units.
I haven't used the Auto GPS because I have no need but I'm sure it works as well as my Tom Tom.
There is nothing to dislike

Does everything well

I have enjoyed the Expresso Ag50s for a few weeks now. I have found the golf gps readings at my home course very accurate. I regularly use a laser device for distance to the pin. The gps helps me with course strategy for courses I am not as familiar with. There is an increased confidence with the simple displays of yardages to green and bunker distances. The setup of golf courses through I golf is intuitive for the computer literate.
I bought the device for the car gps. I've used this several times. The setup is a bit more involved than the golf setup. There are a number of settings to avoid and ignore toll routes. A suggestion would be to simply select toll routes or not. Another thing the booklet doesn't cover is how to add favorites to your list. I could only change the existing 1 favorite in the list until I added a memory card to the unit. Then everything was great. I like the instructions voiced out without the annoying "recalculating" others use.
I have not experienced any issues with satellite pickup or any other issues.
I am very happy with this unit.
Combination of a very good quality golf and car gps.
Setup parameters could be more straight forward.

Great features few things missing though

I had the opportunity to use the AG50. Few times so far with the driving directions and once with golf gps. First off, the driving gps: satellite acquisition is blazing fast. Manual says open the device first then close if wanted after satellites found. As far as the driving accuracy, once downtown Chicago, no problems, once in the south country in the middle of nowhere, it took us to the wrong side across a corn field. Now understood it is far out in the country, but I hooked up my 5 year old garmin and it found it right away. As far as the "recalculating" statement that gets annoying, it doesnt do it, but know this, you don't know you passed your destination, it just reroutes and takes u around the block or next street out of the way. So the "recalculating" is kind of a good thing due to you know if you missed your destination. Also it doesn't tell you your destination is on the right or the left side of the street. For those not road savvy. It would be nice if it did. Now the golf gps: First off it found the course right away. Satellites were accurate and never lost signal. The distances were very accurate, even more accurate than the signs that tell you the yardage, They move the tee box, so yardage is more accurate on the gps. There were quite a few trees, but no problem whatsoever. I upgraded to the premium maps. Although nice to have, it doesn't track your movements on those maps. Only manually can you move the cursor. The shot distance button is a nice feature. Click from your shot and arrive at your ball, and bingo is your shot distance. Although it would be nice if it was automatic, sometimes you forget to press the button. If I was to build a gps, it would have as many auto features as it could. I want to concentrate on my golf game, not messing with the gps. The scorecard feature is nice to keep score, although you have to upload your scores on the igolf website to keep track of your games. I would want it to display shot %, putts, birdies, pars, etc, on the device itself. I mean it does have 2 SD card slots so storage would be easy. It would be nice to look back at the previous course and remember what you did on that hole on the field. I have not tried out the media functions or video player but I dont plan on it due to I have a mp3 player already. Video player i guess would be nice for a long trip, or away from a TV. The device itself feels like high quality. Has a decent weight to it but it is slightly bulky to fit in your pocket during a golf game. Great for mounting in a golf cart cup holder. Very smart as far as that goes. The screen is nice looking, but sometimes you have to touch the screen with some pressure. Not as easy as say a smart phone touch screen. I had trouble syncing the device to igolf at first. I didn't read the manual. It states must have updated Java to sync properly. During this process, igolf customer service was e-mailing me back and fourth. This person was very patient with me and ultimately had me update java. A+ to customer service so far. Giving the price into consideration, no monthly charge if you choose, accurate gps satellites, very fast, easy to use, driving directions so-so, but bottom line is. a great effort. I will definitely use as a golf gps and scorecard. Driving directions in a pinch. Hope this lengthy review helps.
