I purchased these heads and had them professionally assembled with KBS Tour V 125 g shafts. I needed to find a (conforming) replacement for my MP 29s, the iron I've played consistently since 1992! (That's right several sets of 29s but same model since 1992). Suffice it to say I don't change equipment on a whim. I was initially encouraged by the introduction of new forged bladed from Titleist (714), TaylorMade (MB), and of course Mizuno (MP4). Amongst the mass market crowd, the TaylorMade was by far the highest quality and best in terms of feel... but even it stood a distant second to the Gauge Design irons - which of course are Kyoei forded heads. Of course everything along these lines is subjective but I am very very happy with these blades and look forward to putting them into competition this year. Many of my playing partners agree that the shape is fantastic a great cross between traditional "box like" and modern "rounded" with a great thin top line. Very easy to align. Very little offset only on the longer irons. At impact these sound unbelievable... this is where the quality forging really pays off. And one more thing... the wedges are AWESOME. I bought the 54, 56, and 60 thinking I would likely replace these with specialty wedges but not the case. The wedges have a fantastic feel and all around stack up to any specialty wedge on the market... plus with the superior forged feel. Nothing but net with these babies!
