This works for helping with tempo but you can still swing it off plane and not have it "break"

The Medicus golf dual hinged driver is an effective swing training aid.
It helps to improve swing tempo. When I swing, the medicus golf dual hinged irons broke, I realize that it break at the top of my swing. I have since work on and improve my swing.

So Far So Good
By Corey from Ambler, PA on September 8, 2011

So, I bought the Medicus Driver 2 weeks ago. When you receive it, you will likely have to adjust the hinges so they react the way they are supposed to. It takes a bit of getting used to, but you will notice a difference in the way you approach hitting the ball if you spend the time working with the club. I've spent quite a bit of time at the driving range working with the Medicus Driver and I can tell you this much "You will get frustrated". The frustration is good though, because you're working to correct a lot of old bad habits. I would say that this club is a very good starting point for beginners and high handicap intermmediates. After two rounds of golf since I purchased the club, I have seen a significant correction in my slice (may be the worst slice of all time). I'm not playing out of the parallel fairway anymore and I've raised my fairway percentage on my drives by a mile.
Pros:
Responsive
Cheaper than multiple lessons
Good trainer for beginners and high handicappers
You can hit the club like any in your bag
Cons:
Frustrating to break habitsI would recommend this item to a friend.

Had the 460cc driver for around 2 weeks now, iv only had the chance to swing it maybe 200 times, but am feeling so much more confident with my regular driver in hand.

frustrating at first!I would recommend this item to a friend.

By Joshua from Hinesville , GA on March 8, 2011

Now I'm no where close to a good golfer but using this club over the past month has made golf a fun game. From watching a mean slice to the ball going straight is a great filling
Pros:
great training aid Cons:
hard to get the swing right I would recommend this item to a friend.
Good Swing Aid for High Handicapers
By Michael from Tampa, FL on October 14, 2010

This is a good swing aid for the high handicappers. I found that the more avid the golfer, the less this helps. The more you learn how to swing the medicus, the less effective it becomes. You start ingraining the proper muscle memory and eventually you get to the point where the hinge never breaks. I must say that it will ALWAYS help you with your tempo though. I also like that you can hit balls with it so it really makes you slow down and not over swing.
Pros:
Good for Tempo
Hit Balls with hit
Great for getting your swing on plane
Perfect for High HandicappersCons:
Can get outdated for lower handicappers I would recommend this item to a friend.
Worth it for me
By Joe on May 11, 2009

I re-started my golf hobby last year. I play about 2 rounds a week. I have struggled with inconsistency. Some days I slice, other days I pull-slice, and about once a month I hook. On a good day I can drive 295, on a bad day, 200. I obviously have swing faults.
I finally decided I was tired. of losing balls in the rough (or the woods) and having rounds ranging from 78 to 100 so I bought the Medicus.
The Medicus is not an easy club to swing. It took about 100 swings for me to not break the club. But after about 2000 swings I have been able to substantially reduce my bad drives and my max and min driver distance has also increased. Now I am hitting a lot of 280 yard 10 yard fades and 10 yard draws. I can\'t control which yet, but it\'s enough to keep me in or close to the fairway. I rarely hit a drive under 250.
I also find that when I fall back into my bad habits, the Medicus helps me get back in the groove.
I highly recommend this product for someone willing to use it until their swing is right. Also, forget how you used to swing the club by instead focusing on how the Medicus forces you to swing on plane. Go very slow at first, and overtime, you will be able to loosen the hinges to refine your swing even more.
I\'m glad I bought it. Golf is fun again.
