A Great Confidence Booster for a Beginner
    October 20, 2014
I've only been playing golf for a couple of months now, and I am much more of a woods swinger than an irons guy. I've got a slower swing speed and a tendency to hit fat. All of these factors really kept me from enjoying the second-hand Callaway X-18s I'd started with. Not that they aren't great clubs, but I'm just not there yet. I decided to give the D100s a shot after reading some reviews and seeing the great price here at Rock Bottom. I really couldn't be happier with the decision. As some reviewers mentioned, they do take some getting used to, but I felt an immediate and distinct improvement in my swing. I still get great feedback from the steel part of the shaft, but the graphite half helps me get the club head around a lot faster. Mishits are pretty straight. Fat hits still go a good long ways (maybe 60-75% of expected distance). I am hitting a full club length longer with the Wilsons, sometimes even more if I really catch the sweet spot (pulled my gap wedge on a 100yd par 3 and overshot the green by 20yd!). They feel great and they launch the ball high and long. I had hoped these would last me until I got a little better and did a club fitting, but I plan on playing these for quite awhile. Bravo, Wilson!
    Pros:
Good feel; light weight; smart looking at address; price

    Enjoy the extra yards
    September 29, 2014
Have played 3 rounds with these Wilson D100's with half and half shafts. Took a full round to get the feel of the weight - shaft is so light that the head feels heavier than it actually is. Increased my swing speed and added about 7 yards distance per club. Had been playing a good cavity back steel shafted club. These Wilson's get the ball up higher and faster and make my swing easier. Glad I bought them.
    Cons:
Grips a bit thin, but acceptable.

    Good but not miracle clubs.....
    September 7, 2014
Rockbottom prices, shipping and condition was good, as always. As for the clubs, I waited until I've played two rounds with these. I agree with reviewers here and elsewhere that: 1) These clubs need some getting used to (give them a fair chance, and you will improve hitting them); 2) At first, the shaft's reaction seems a bit "different" (they are50/50 steel and graphite, you know :) 3) I believe the transition to 50/50 shafts will be easier for those who have already played graphite/need to go down from steel (e.g. injury/age); 4) The feeling on well struck shots is more muted, meaning vibrations to your hands/shoulders are less than let's say player/s clubs (which I like); 5) Nice weight: not heavy, but not too light either; 6) Has some offset. I do not necessarily agree or disagree with some reviews elsewhere that these clubs are one/two/ so many yards longer than others. I can say (for me), they hit nicely off a T (par 3's), the 8-GW becomes pretty accurate weapons on the course (yardage and dispersion) after you get used to them. I am so so on the 7, and the 4,5,6 I'm still dialling in and need to get more accurate and consistent with ( Talking generally, I can usually hit any 6 pretty accurate, a 5 so so and a 4 I struggle with usually...sometimes replace the latter with a hybrid). I need more work on the 4-7 iron, but pretty happy so far with the progress, especially the accuracy and consistent distance with the 8-GW. Don't expect miracles.....but these deserve a decent chance !

    Great clubs
    September 7, 2014
I am a 13 handicap golfer that switched from Nike pro combo Irons to these. The shafts are different but seem very strong. I average 10-15 yards longer with these irons over the Nike Irons and these are more forgiving. I would definitely recommend them.
    Pros:
    Forgiving better distance
    Cons:
    none

    Solid feel
    September 4, 2014
The D100 irons feel solid on every hit. Was worried the half and half shafts would not deliver the same performance as the graphite shafted Wilson Staffs I had. They actually improved the feel by delivering the club in a more consistent manner.
    Pros:
    Solid feel and consistent performance.
    Cons:
You can't hurry the swing at all and get peak performance.

    Cons:
Shafts are lite and seem whipped until you get used to them.

What an upgrade from my former clubs!
    June 17, 2014
These irons play beautifully. I could tell right off the bat that I was striking the ball cleaner and achieving more distance. The 50/50 shafts have a great weight and flex to them. The club heads have great ball control and cut into the ground nicely. I definitely lowered my score a good 5 to 10 strokes using these clubs.
    Pros:
    great distance and control.
    Cons:
    none
