Callaway I-Mix FT-9 draw head
By Ken from Soo, Michigan on October 30, 2012

Started out the season in the fairway and by July I was in the bush. Unable to correct on my own I opted to swap my neutral FT-IZ head for the FT-9 draw head. Noticeable improvement on the first swing! A nice thwack sound and a nice draw had my ball back in the fairway. Although not as long as the FT-IZ it is easier to control and has me back in bounds. A good buy and at the price it's a steal! Wish RBG would offer I-Mix shafts again.

Disappointment !!
By Noel from Melbourne, Australia on September 5, 2012

Sadly this head is destined to become a 'door stopper' as it came without an adapter without which I cannot have my UST graphite shaft fitted. I'm still searching for a .335 adapter here in Australia but so far no luck.

FT9 I-MIX
By Jeremy from Roslyn, NY on August 9, 2012

Very cool product. FT9 is a solid all-around driver, and the ability to slot it with a project x or other high quality shaft of your choice is a cool bonus.

I-mix option is great, this club head is great
By Richard from Norman, OK on July 29, 2012

I have three I-Mix heads: FT-9 (10 degree), FT-IZ (9 degree), and FT-IQ (13 degree). Of those, the FT-9 is my favorite. I also own an FT-5 with a stock shaft. The FT-9 is lighter and sounds better than the FT-IZ. The FT-9 is also more forgiving than the FT-5. I also have a Titleist 910 D3 (9.5 degree) with a Project X 6.0 shaft. Both of the FT's get comparable distance.
The best thing about the I-Mix is the versatility of switching shafts. Most golfers under-value the importance of the shaft. I have a Mitsubishi Fubuki, 63 gram, stiff shaft and a Fujikura Speeder, 75 gram, stiff shaft. I switch the shafts and club heads around based on the course conditions and wind.
Pros:
- great club head
- great distance, very forgiving
- I-Mix provides excellent versatility in shaft selection
- very easy to switch shafts
- Club head comes with I-Mix toolCons:
- Difficult to find I-Mix shafts nowI would recommend this item to a friend.

Andrew Nailed It.
By Las Vegas Jim from Las Vegas, Nevada on May 27, 2012

Andrew is correct; Callaway has not made a better driver since it introduce the FT9. The only comment I can add is the importance of getting the correct loft and club head alignment (draw vs. neutral). I just got my second FT9 because my 10 degree was costing me distance. Golfers with moderate (88 to 95 mph swing speeds) should not automatically choose a higher lofted club or a draw set up. By paring the 9 degree head with the right shaft (regular with a low kick point), I have been able to achieve a much better trajectory (particularly in the wind) and improve distance. I also find that the neutral face allows me to hit my soft fade with great consistency and draw the ball without it turning into a hook.
Pros:
Consistent performance.
Good feel.
Look at address.
Cons:
Nothing.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Amazing driver with flexability
By Andrew from Adelaide on May 22, 2012

I used this model for quite some time, tried FT-IZ, Diablo Octane and then Razr all in imix as I like to change shafts. Realistically this head is just as long and workable as the Razr, and longer then Diaablo and FT-IZ in my opinion. Now they are cheap and imix is on the way out its a good time to grab some stuff. It my not be the newest model but if you set yourself up with the right shaft you won't be upset with this head
Pros:
Long
Forgiving

Dissapointed
By Jack Rowe from Tannersville, PA on May 8, 2012

The club head is exactly what I wanted; however, I missed something somewhere because I thought I was ordering a complete club...you know one with a shaft! Very dissappointed that all I got was the club head. Now I have to find a shaft for it.

New "Old" Club Hard to Beat!!
By Ron from San Antonio, Texas on April 7, 2012

This is not the newest club from Callaway, but sometimes older is better!! I picked this little jewel up from Rock Bottom Golf for a song and and I'm the one singing all the way to the green. I selected the I-Mix variant because I have 4 I-Mix shafts I can use, depending on playing conditions and how my swing is responding on the driving range before I start my round. I'll never know why Callaway stopped manufacturing I-Mix equipment because I love the interchangeability. The price is right at Rock Bottom to try either the FT-9 or FT-IZ driver heads. You won't be sorry!!
Pros:
Love the set-up and look of the FT-9. Weight and balance is also well suited for my slow takeaway.Cons:
I'm hitting too far off the tee and now I'm spending more time trying to figure out what club to use to get to the green!I would recommend this item to a friend.
