The unique face pattern has oval depressions on the face creating a mechanical lock with the golf ball's cover to give you a better, smoother roll.
Metal-X Insert Dual layered insert designed to put a consistent, true roll on the ball with amazing feedback and feel. The 6061 aluminum striking layer’s oval depressions maximize the mechanical lock with the golf ball dimples to increase friction and impart proper launch of the golf ball, which in turn creates a much more controlled and consistent roll. The Urethane inner layer provides soft touch and saves weight to optimize performance.
Midnight Black Finish Premium, high tech process produces a durable, glare reduction finish. This finish was added specifically based on feedback gathered from Tour players.
Lamkin 3Gen Pistol Grip Thin, smaller pistol shape appeals to better players. The grip is made of Lamkin’s proprietary 3GEN material, which is their softest synthetic rubber compound and reduces vibration without dulling the feel of the putt. This allows golfers to keep their forearms relaxed, apply very light grip pressure and minimize hard tension for smooth, consistent strokes.

Really like this putter. The black with white line up lines really help me out in lining up the putter. Have a very bad left eye. Has a good feel.

I have never written a review on any piece of golf gear because they are all subjective to the individual and personal opinions, however, this putter is truly awesome. I recently played an Odyssey 2ball SRT mallet putter and have never played a blade putter. I ended up trading in the 2ball and went with the blade Metal X #1. This putter felt so good during my first round. It took me a little while to get used to the speed but once I did my putts were dropping. This putter feels like butter and looks pretty good. Thanks RBG!

I wish the putter head had a magnetic closure.

Great roll

Keep in mind: Putter reviews are subjective. Personally, this is my first time not using a mallet style putter. I developed a tendency to rotate my wrists over the last two seasons: the result was missing all my putts, but missing them all VERY consistently in the same manner (I was putting more consistently than I had been, but was missing). Getting this #9 1/2 offset putter has allowed me to utilize my natural wrist movement, but keep my putts on track to the cup. The milled face allows for an AMAZINGLY clean roll on contact. This is a fantastic piece of gear, so long as you end up with the style (mallet, blade, offset, ect) that is right for you.

Odyssey Metal X #1

As expected, the Metal X is a phenomenal putter for those looking to gain all of the benefits of the latest technology without all of the frilly (and strange) putter heads out there these days. I use a White Ice #1, only a few years old, so it would take something really special for me to trade it in. I was able to test both simultaneously and found that the Metal X has a slight edge in feel, which is paramount in a blade. But I did not notice a real difference in balance or precision over the White Ice. Overall, great, great putter, but maybe not worth the trade if you already play an Odyssey.
