More Forgiving and Add Distance
By Matthew from Leesburg, VA on October 16, 2012

I've been playing with these all summer and have definitely seen improvement in my ball striking. It definitely takes less effort to really get a nice ball flight and good distance. But overall I have noticed an extra 10 yards or so on most of my shots that are hit clean. I also really love the way these clubs look. The black is very sleek.
Pros:
Forgiveness
Distance
Look
Well builtI would recommend this item to a friend.
Nice Clubs
By JC from South Carolina on May 12, 2012

This is the best set of irons I've ever owned. I put about 6 rounds on them before this review. Great solid feel at impact. Long straight ball flight. The spin is second to none, the laser cut grooves are awesome. As others mentioned, the black pearl finish does wear. Mine have a few shiny marks after a trip to range and 6 rounds of golf, but the finish doesn't bother me. The clubs play great.
Pros:
Solid feel
Awesome spin

Great length and Max forgiveness
By Travis from Tuscaloosa on May 10, 2012

As a weekend hacker, iron play has never been my strong suit. With the CG16s I actually have great confidence over the ball which has taken strokes off my game. Confidence is key. I've gained 10-15yds on each iron since I made the purchase. Ball flight is consistent and mishits are thankfully forgiven with these clubs. I now have a use for a divot tool. They don't look bad either.
Pros:
Distance, Forgiveness, Having a 3 iron instead of a hybrid, Feel, Looks, PriceCons:
Grips tend to wear easilyI would recommend this item to a friend.
Oustanding Irons
By Todd from Lancaster, Pennsylvania on May 7, 2012

I'm a 12 handicap and have been refusing to purchase irons for years. As a loyal Tour Action Cleveland iorn owner for years - I took the plunge with new CG16's. Wow - first round of the year with my new CG16's was nothing short of spectacular. These clubs are so long. I was sceptical of the Black Pearl's head color, but after two holes I was hooked. It's a great visual contrast.
I'd highly recommend these clubs to any mid handicapper.
The experience at Rock Bottom Golf - ROCKED.
Happy Pennsylvania Golfer.
Pros:
Long
Great Weight
Nice Look
Excellent Off-Center HitsCons:
Off Center Face Scratches - first time at driving range.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Cleveland CG16 Black Pearl Irons
By Michael Stephens from Singapore on May 6, 2012

Purchased this set of Cleveland CG16 Black Pearl irons after loads of research in reviews and write ups on the internet. The reviews spoke of a very forgiving iron that delivered extra length and more forgiveness when contact was 'less then optimal' and I have to say that basic assessment has been delivered in loads.
The CG16 Black Pearls are a nice looking iron at address. They're no blade but their black matt finish and laser milled face is a really nice look. I optioned a stiff shaft as my swing is quite strong off a handicap of 11.
After two full rounds, the first of which was a bit rusty to start with but throughout the round the feel of these clubs was just getting sweeter and sweeter. The first iron shot in the second round with the clubs set the scene. The contact was sweet, the distance was long and direction not too bad. Throughout the round, these irons just got better and better as the feel between hands and club got more in sync. The closing shot into the 18th with a 9-iron from around 135 metres was sweet, into the heart of the green, stopping nicely and finishing up with a regulation two-putt par.
I recommend these irons to anybody who has tried the blades and even forged clubs that couldn't quite make them work consistently. Mid-handicappers will love these for their forgiving sweet spot and the control you get with the laser milled surface like the Cleveland range of wedges (which I bought to accompany these irons and perform just as nicely).
At the end of the day, in just the second round with the new irons, I managed to play to handicap for a net 72 at my home course in Malaysia on a day with no carry due to heavy overnight rain and could only say thanks to the Black Pearls!
Pros:
Forgiving, long and sweet contact, even if a little off the sweet spot.
Great looking irons.
Control and spin with the laser milled surface, even with long irons into the green.Cons:
Right now, not a damn thing!I would recommend this item to a friend.
