Initially applied in Mizuno's Hot Metal irons - Chromoly has made the cross over to Mizuno's forgings with staggering results. The fastest ball speeds Mizuno has ever produced from a fully Forged iron - a treat for both the senses and the scorecard.

A shorter blade length throughout, bevelled training edge and reduced offset.

CNC BACK MILLED

A 6.4% wider back milled slot increases stability from off center strikes - from a smaller clubhead.

Mizuno made a monster

Having played Mizuno blades for 20 years and most recently the JPX 919 Tour, I expected the sweet spot to be near the hosel, like my other sticks. Once I found it just a hair out toward the toe, I couldn't believe the power, penetration and trajectory. The feel is phenomenal! I was hesitant to buy them as a low single handicap, but these babies are more than I hoped for. 5 stars all the way. And hitting the 4 iron 225 off the tee at age 66 is a major benefit. Buy them!

First set of forged irons

Got these to replace a set of Adams Idea irons and have been nothing but thrilled with them. They look great at address which is something that for whatever reason impacts my feel of them. When you strike one perfectly, it feels like butter and is incredibly satisfying. If you have the dough to spend on a forged Mizuno set that you can hit for years and years, this is the set to get

Got these a couple weeks ago. Fabulous feel. Great look at address. The long blade length gives extra confidence. Much better feel than JPX 919 Forged which had little feel. I was playing the JPX919 hot metal pro. These JPX 921 Forged irons for me are much easier to get in the air. Thinner soles = Better turf interaction. Small shallow, even divots. The JPX Hot Metal wedges 54 + 59 degrees are also easy to hit on full shots out of the fairway. Launch high and with plenty backspin.

Just a word on Rock Bottom Golf. OUTSTANDING service. I ordered from Canada. Had I ordered them here, I had a wait time of 8 weeks if (end of our golf season) _ I received them in 5 days.
Great feel and set up at address. Nice soft Mizuno feel. Distance up 1/2 club. I generally struggle to get a 5 iron in the air. I have no issue with this 5 iron. none at the moment.

Better In Simulator Than On The Course

A little context. I'm 47 year old male that normally shoots between 75-80 and play 4-5 rounds per month. After testing many, many irons, I decided on the Mizuno JPX 921 forged irons. They felt great when tested, but when I got them on the course the ball flight was too high for me [I normally don't have issues getting the ball in the air, these just accentuated it]. If this is an area you struggle with, I would think these would be helpful. A second nuance that didn't fit my preference was the heaviness of the club head vs the rest of the club. As reference, the irons had a 120 stiff shaft, so a bit lighter than say a dynamic gold s300. These are not meant to be negative comments, but rather my personal preferences.
The irons look great and the ball definitely jumps off the face when appropriately struck. You can't go wrong with Mizuno irons, this model just wasn't the one for me.
