From Alien, a company that help pioneer the way for “hybrid” clubs, the Shot Saver wedge offers the most revolutionary, uniquely shaped wedges of our time. Its oversize, 2-piece construction combines an extra large sweet spot and wider than average sole in order to create a higher moment of inertia (MOI). This will help eliminate twisting on impact creating a much more accurate shot than traditional wedges can provide.

  • Oversize, hollow, 2-piece construction stainless steel head
  • Larger, wider sole offers increased bounce angles for easier sand shots
  • Glass bead satin, non-glare face w/ high chrome finish
  • Firm flex, light steel shaft for solid feel and accuracy

3 in the sand, 3 on the green

feels more confident in the sand than my 20 year old Tommy Armour. this has been a difference maker for me since adding it to my set.
    Pros+++ confidence

    Works great.

Have used the club twice, and could not believe how it improved my short game over my standard 64 degree flop wedge. And my high shots stopped within a few feet of the landing spot. I am now charging the pin instead of aiming for the center of the green.
ProsEasy to use. Soft, high shots from in close.
ConsMight be too heavy for some users.

    It Works
    February 19, 2016
It definitely has helped my game around the greens especially flop type shots over the bunkers, I am still learning how to use it properly out of the bunker although it does lift the ball out of the bunker every time it is just a matter of controlling the speed and distance out of the bunker.
ProsEasy to use and simple execution of shots
ConsTakes a while to control what speed to swing the club to control distance

I've played two rounds with the Alien. The online videos tell you to close the clubface, and swing down and through. This works pretty well out of deep rough and sandy or close cropped lies. It is tougher to hit out of wet sand, and has resulted in a few skulled shots. I'm looking forward to trying it in fluffier , lighter sand. Defiinitely a club for 50 yards and in.
    ProsHeavier head, bigger face
ConsNot fool proof from wet packed sand

    Does the job.

I had not carried a lob wedge in a while so I really needed to practice with this before I brought it on a round, but of course, I didn't. Took a little getting used to, but once I had used it as few holes it really did its job well. I'm glad I added this to my bag.

    Odd but great

Odd looking - leading face line is curved as opposed to a straight line for alignment. But groove lines help align club face.
Prosheavy club for ease of tempo
Conscurved leading face line - easy adjustment by looking at bottom groove for alignment.

Best club for sand and deep grass
    February 27, 2014
This club looks just like my Alien 2 Series 1 Pat Simmons design wedge. I have owned it for probably 15 years and use it more than any other club in my collection of clubs. It is great for getting out of the sand and thick grass. I have holed out with this club at least 10 times. I will probably buy another Alien wedge before this one dies, because I never want to be without one..
Proslarge, heavy head keeps club moving through the sand/grass
Consyou won't find iron covers for the head.

I hit some good shots with the club but the bad ones turned out as line drives. I would recommend only because the price warrants a try if one is struggling with their short game
ProsNice soft shot when struck properly
    ConsLine drive misses
